£2,775 Raised — A Record‑Breaking Community Fundraiser for ESTEEM
Shoreham‑by‑Sea Calendar 2026
Founded by Stephanie Young of #saydesignEvents / #BarkingBanana and Arron Broadhouse of Photal Photography Gallery & Framers
We’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible success of our third Shoreham‑by‑Sea community calendar — our biggest achievement yet. Created for the community, by the community, this year’s calendar showcases stunning photographs taken by local competition winners, capturing the beauty and spirit of our town.
“I’m so proud of our efforts this year. I was responsible for running the photo competition, designing the artwork, digital media and promotions, writing copy and some background admin. Arron was a huge part of the project contacting businesses, press, selling in-store and posting the online sales, not to mention framing all the winners images as a keepsake for them. We made a great team. This is our 3rd Calendar and the biggest one yet.” Stephanie Young
Thanks to everyone’s support, 100% of the profits — an amazing £2,775 — have been donated to ESTEEM, a local charity offering social, wellbeing, volunteering, and mentoring opportunities for young people aged 14–26 in Shoreham‑by‑Sea. Learn more at esteem.org.uk.
How It All Began
This project was born in 2021 during the first lockdown, when Stephanie Young and Aaron Broadhouse noticed how much people valued their short walks and time outdoors. Wanting to support the community’s wellbeing, they launched a free online photo competition where locals could vote for their favourite images. Those photos became the very first calendar.
With the help of local businesses, the calendars went on sale and raised funds for the Shoreham Food Bank and the Shoreham Dogs Trust. The second calendar continued this momentum, raising £900 for The Circular Space — a creative reuse hub bringing joy and sustainability to our community.
A Remarkable Year 3
This year, the project has more than doubled previous fundraising totals, reaching a remarkable £2,775. This milestone was made possible through the generosity and enthusiasm of our local partners.

How ESTEEM Will Use the Funds
We asked ESTEEM how they plan to use the money raised and what impact it will have on the young adults they support. They shared:
‘This support will go directly to our youth sessions held throughout the week for 14-26 year olds, providing shared home-cooked meals and open drop-in spaces that bring young people together in a safe and supportive environment. These moments of connection play a vital role in building confidence, reducing isolation and helping young people feel they belong. Young adults have told us these sessions are a lifeline, both practically and emotionally. Thank you to everyone who was involved in and supported the calendar, we are incredibly grateful.’
